It has been constantly raining in Maine. The good news is that with all the rain comes beautiful flowers. My pappy was showing me that he had shaped Nana’s favorite flower bush into a heart for her. He was so sincere and humble in telling me that, like it was just his duty to go out of his way to make her feel special. It warmed my heart.
The thing is, we focus on the negatives. We get pissed that it has rained for days on end and we often lose sight of the purpose. You can relate it to real life. There will be times when the sun won’t shine and you will find yourself in a dark place. But the universe is silently at work, putting everything into place for you. You just don’t know it yet.
All we have seen lately is rain, but in the midst of all that rain, Nana’s flowers were coming back to life. Slowly but surely. The heart shape made by my pappy just goes to show that not only did beauty persevere through the showers and clouds, but also that people are always by your side, waiting for the clouds to part, and putting the effort in to be a part of your sunshine.
How adorable are my grandparents?
Moral of the story: When the sun is MIA, be someone else’s sunshine. And when you find yourself without sunshine, have faith that there are plans in the work for one hell of a comeback.
