The Subtle Art of Nailing Banana Pancakes

Anyone who has tried their luck with cooking banana pancakes knows it can be pretty disappointing.  I got tired of burning them and having them fall apart instead of looking like the ones I saw on Pinterest.  You really only need three ingredients, which is awesome because they’re easy to make. And yes, I made banana hearts.

Here’s what you need:

  • A banana
  • 1 egg
  • Handful of oats

Tip: Add a little extra banana to make your banana fluffier.

Here’s how you make it:

  • Mash the banana up into a bowl
  • Add the egg into the bowl and scramble it up.
  • Add a handful of oats.

 You can also add:

  • Honey
  • Berries
  • Fruit
  • Almond Butter

You’re doing it wrong if you:

  • Cook them on high.  Try to keep it at a solid 5-6 tops, and be careful flipping them!  If you cook them on high too fast the outsides will burn and when you go to flip it, it will crumble like a Nature Valley granola bar.
  • Add stuff too it!  don’t eat them plain- that’s boring.  Spice it up with some yogurt, honey, peanut butter, and fruit.
